May 11, 2012 – End of the Trekking Trail, Dave and Joanne are in Lukla

The takeoff from Lukla’s airstrip is always thrilling!

Dave and Joanne are at the Paradise Lodge, adjacent to the airstrip in Lukla. They are guests of Dawa Phuti and her husband Pasang, owners of the Paradise. Tonight will be Dave and Joanne’s final evening with their full staff. The will share a final celebratory meal with, Min and Jaythai, their guides, as well as their porters.

Tomorrow morning, if the weather is good, there will be a 5:30am wake for call for breakfast. If the weather cooperates, Min, Dave and Joanne will receive their Khata blessing scarves from Pasang and be on their way to Kathmandu early, where Rupa will be waiting for them at the airport.
