May 12, 2011 – The Team Has Made it Back to Lukla
Starbucks of Lukla
At 1:00pm today, we walked back into Lukla. The long narrow street crowded with shops, travel agents, and internet cafes led us to our lodge which is adjacent to the airstrip.
Jackie, Mathes and Sara were still shopping as they covered the final distance to our lodge. After lunch, several of us went to Starbucks of Lukla to enjoy the free wireless internet, cappuccinos and lattes.
The weather is cloudy, but the ceiling is high and planes and helicopters have been zooming in and out of Lukla since we arrived. So we have a good feeling that tomorrow we will be bound for Kathmandu on the first flight.
