June 24, 2010 – Our First Acclimatization Day
It was a rainy day, but we enjoyed our first chance to walk up to the glacier to stretch our legs and feel the mountain air.

Left: Linda enjoys a lunch stop at 9,400ft/2,865m. We climbed over 2,000 feet today.; Right: Paule loved being in the mountain air.
Left: Bill looked to be in his element amongst the rock, ice and mountain meadows of the Caucasus; Right: The old mountaineer Tom also knew that he was in a place where he would feel right at home.
We paused for a group photo at our high point for the day. Today was a great beginning for our week in the mountains.
Heading back down the trail. Saunas and dinner await us at the lodge!
