Everest Base Camp Trek Dispatch
May 2, 2010 – The Team Summits Kala Patar
This is Leila Silveira reporting from Gorak Shep. Today after a hike from Lobuche, the team went up Kala Patar, the highest elevation on this trip. Kala Patar means “Black rock” in Hindi, and is one of the best places to get a good view of Everest and the Khumbu Icefall. Bal, our cook, also decided to join the group.
It was a full day and the team was quite tired at the end of it, but we are really excited about our plan to visit to Everest base camp tomorrow.
