The Wilderness Medical Society, BAI and Track & Trail Adventures Presents
Wilderness Medicine Conference on the Trail to Everest Base Camp: October 1 - 21, 2009
Proudly supporting: Everest ER

The trek to Everest Base Camp remains, in our opinion, the greatest mountain walk on earth. We will have the opportunity to view the most spectacular mountain scenery in the world. Besides Everest we will become familiar with other Himalayan giants: Ama Dablam, Cho Oyu, Lobuche Peak, Nuptse, Lhotse, and Pumori.
Medical professionals from Australia, New Zealand, Sweden, the UK, US and Canada are in Nepal’s unique Khumbu Valley for an unprecedented academic retreat. This three week travelling conference includes exceptional faculty: Dr. Luanne Freer MD, FACEP, FAWM - founder of Everest ER, Emergency Physician and Medical Director for Medcor Inc.; Dr. Eric Johnson MD, FAAFP, FAWM - Director Emergency Services for Teton Valley Hospital- ID and volunteer physician with Everest ER and Wally Berg, a four time Everest summiter and founder of Berg Adventures International.
In the mornings and evenings on the trail, delegates will be taking in curriculum providing an update in wilderness medicine. Sponsors of the three week retreat include Track & Trail Adventures, Berg Adventures International and The Wilderness Medical Society. A portion of conference proceeds go to support the non-profit operations of Everest ER - the world’s highest medical clinic.
Stay tuned as the team will send daily dispatches from our unforgettable adventure in Nepal.
