Everest Base Camp Trek Dispatch
October 26, 2008 – Final Dispatch, Part II
This is Mitchell with my last dispatch. This morning we all loaded into the van to take the Root family to the airport for their return trip to the states. We were all sad to see them leave; they have meant so much to the team.
After our sad farewells, Rick, Jerome, Temba and I rode on to Patan to see another city in the Kathmandu valley. Patan is famous for its wood carvers, metal works and stone carvers. We saw the many temples in Durbar Square there and we did some shopping at the local vendors. Afterwards we returned to Kathmandu for a late lunch at the famous Mike's Breakfast.
Tomorrow it is my turn to say goodbye to beautiful Nepal. I am sad to leave but I have so many wonderful memories thanks to Temba and his excellent staff. I also want to send a special thanks to Min who helped me so much to achieve my goals. And thanks to all the people at Berg Adventures for making a dream vacation a wonderfully real vacation.
