The views of Dhunche

The views of Dhunche

Hello, this is Jerome. We left Kathmandu this morning with our guide Min, and our porter Shanda to Dhunche by 4x4. We followed a twisty mountain "highway" for 6 hours, 110km. That road has the width of one car, a sharp slope on one side, 1,500 m drop on the other side with no railing and blind turns. It was quite an experience and having a honk in working order is an understatement. Then 50 km before Dhunche, the road becomes the Camel Trophy, lots of shaking...awesome !!!! We stopped to have lunch at Trishuli (3600m) a very colorful village , we then continued our adventure up 2000m passing little settlements and farmers houses, 9 km before Dhunche we had to leave the jeep due to " road renovation" so we walked the rest of the way. This was good exercises for things to come. We arrived at 4pm at the lodge, dropped our bags and relax with a cup of tea watching the world go by, how French !!!.
