May 25, 2008 – Visiting Thimphu: Bhutan’s capital
These characters were seen shopping for masks in one of Thimpu's shops today.
Silk, and later when we are at higher elevations, woolen woven fabrics are all handcrafted and beautiful. Caroline bought a large hand woven silk piece today that had been worked on for one year before it was completed!
Today, a quiet, relaxing Sunday in the capital, we visited Tashichoedzong, the seat of the Bhutanese Government. Everything is clean, orderly and relaxed in the Kingdom, even at the center of government and business.
