June 21 – Berg Adventures Team Reaches the Summit of Kilimanjaro
Today is Tuesday, June 21st, and Safie, our guide, has called to tell us that all the team members reached the summit of Kilimanjaro at 19,339 feet (5894 meters) earlier this morning. He reported that it was a special time for this group as they stood together on the summit. After some photos and high fives the team descended to a much lower elevation where they will spend the night. I am sure the team will sleep well this evening. Tomorrow the team is expected to return to Arusha where they will enjoy hot showers and the comforts of their hotel before setting off the following day on safari. |
