August 20, 2006 – Balloon Ride Over Serengeti

Hello this is Twyla calling from the Serengeti.  I’m sitting here watching 3 female lions sleep while I do this dispatch so that’s pretty cool.  We drove here yesterday on the bumpy road from Ngorongoro Crater, stopped at the Olduvai Gorge to see some of the oldest human fossils which was pretty neat and then made our way to the Serengeti.

I went on a balloon ride over the Serengeti this morning and had a full English breakfast out on the plains of the Serengeti which was absolutely amazing.  Unfortunately it’s my last day, I’m crying here, and I head back to Arusha tomorrow.

So this is it, my last dispatch.  I had a great time and I will definitely miss all my new friends.

August 21, 2006 – Good-bye Tanzania

Hello this is Twyla calling, I’m standing in line waiting to check in for my flight to Amsterdam.  I’m pretty sad about leaving.  David and I had a great last day in the Serengeti.  He is an excellent guide and driver and due to his good eye and spotting skills that I saw as much wildlife as I did.

Angel brought me to the airport and we are just waiting here to make sure everything is all going well.  So I just wanted to say I’m heading back…[lost transmission]
