June 25, 2007 – Visiting the School and Getting Ready to Start for the Climb

Jack Hanna and Us

This is Jim Barr reporting from Arusha. It is Monday morning and we had a very cool morning; we had an opportunity to visit a primary school called Linde where  we had a beautiful time with the kids as they showed us their school. We left our pen pal letters that we brought from Edmonton there and when we get off the mountain in another week, 9 days we will come back to the school and pick up the responses to take back to our Edmonton kids.

Here we are at the trailhead getting ready for the start of the trek. It’s amazing to watch how much gear our porters are loading on. Who knew it would take that much.

Sue Lambert is stoked to have finally arrived at Kilimanjaro International Airport
