November 26 - Our Summit Push

Hi you guys, its Maegan calling from the Ama Dablam Base Camp and everything is going really well today.  The team had an 8:00am start today and Jennifer, Don, Grant and our leading climbing Sherpa Nima Tashi were headed up at 8:00am . We just received the great news that Jennifer and Nima Tashi reached the summit at noon .

Don and Grant have actually decided to return to Camp 3 after making it at least over half way to the summit.  Don is feeling very wiped out from yesterday climb to Camp 3. Unfortunately he is going to be heading back to Camp 3 but there is a chance of being able to make a summit bid tomorrow.

Today Joe and Wally stayed in Camp 3 because they got in late enough last night so they just could not get enough rest so they stayed at Camp 3 where they are recuperating.  The one nice thing is the team is very safe, everybody is doing well and we hope there are not going to be any problems because of the good, smart calls people have made today.

We are excited for Jennifer’s success and the huge efforts by the whole team.  I will be calling them tonight at about 5 o’clock and will talk with Joe and Don about their plans for tomorrow.  They may get rested up enough to make a summit push tomorrow and they are going decide this afternoon.  Hopefully everything will work out well; the only unfortunate news is that the weather has deteriorated a little bit this afternoon.  It is not quite as blue as it has been and we have quite a few clouds and a little bit of wind picking up.  We…..(lost transmission)
