The Silver Hut. The Silver Hut was assembled from
100-odd parts of a pre-fabricated hut based on systems used by

Bishop, who patched his trousers with tent cloth, stands on the
Silver Hut Glacier and measures the sun’s energy with an Epply radiometer.
Irene Ortenburger, who trekked 180 miles from Kathmandu with
other wives of the expedition members, records the figures.
