Resting up for the summit bid

January 3. This is Leila Caudwell reporting from Plaza de Mulas. I just had radio contact with Bernardo, our guide and trip leader. The team has arrived successfully at high camp. The camp is called the Berlin Camp at 18,963 ft or 5780m. They are all doing great and getting ready to take a nap and attempt the summit later tonight.

So far I’ve reported extremely good weather even though there are a lot of clouds in the sky. It’s very warm and there is some blue sky. It’s a bit windy. Let’s just hope the weather stays this way for the next 24 hours.

This will be the final push and I will be reporting tomorrow with the news.
