A lifelong gift to children in Nepal

January 15, 2003 - Those of you who followed our dispatches from last fall’s Everest Base Camp trek will likely remember the beautiful faces of the young children we met at the Shree Brekheswar School.

We visited the village of Salle Dande, in the rural countryside west of Kathmandu. There, we meet the people involved with a project to construct a school building, with major support from the San Francisco-based organization Room to Read.

These photos show some of the progress at the school. This section of the building’s construction began on Dec 31 and the photos show the work that took place in the first 10 days.

Our next Everest Base Camp treks are scheduled for March 29 – April 20 and September 27 – October 19. The September / October trek will include an option to climb 20,075 ft Loboche Peak for those interested. Contact us for more information on these treks.
