January 8, 2008 – Cozy Camp

High Camp on Aconcagua

It's the afternoon of the 8th and I'm calling you from our High Camp, 19,000 feet above sea level. It's a beautiful day, we have west winds but the sky is still very clear. We are getting forecasts from our office in Canada and we will try to summit Aconcagua tomorrow.

Everyone seems comfortable; it's only three hours to climb up from here…[lost transmission]. Our Berlin High Camp is very cozy, and we have to stay here a few days, I don't think we'll mind.

We'll be watching the forecasts and tomorrow we'll be making a very early start to reach the summit of Aconcagua. We will keep you posted, and signing off from the Berlin High Camp of Aconcagua.
