January 1, 2008 – Happy New Year

It's New Year's Day, and I'm calling you from the elevation of about 12,200 feet. We're over 3,700metres on the south base of Aconcagua. We're on a glacial moraine, the sun is still out and I think the feeling of the Aconcagua climbing team as the New Year starts is still relaxed.

Last night, Leila and Simon created a wonderful New Year's Eve meal with steak, and fresh vegetables. Probably the best part of the meal was the fresh homemade vegetable stock soup that Simon made. Dessert was two big chocolate fudge brownies with chocolate sauce on top, a wonderful meal. Happy New Year!
