July 3, 2005 - Mount Meru Team Underway Hello this is Kit Chapman at our first camp for Mount Meru and I can say that our adventure has finally begun. As we entered the park we saw giraffes, hippopotamus and Africa’s small antelopes. Once we started trekking it was pretty slow going as we kept a slow pace up the hill but got here and just finished a delicious dinner and we are now looking forward to a good nights sleep before we start up to Saddle Camp (11,713 ft / 3570 m) tomorrow.
