June 22, 2007 – The Unbelievable Experience of Ngorongoro
Hi This is Jim Tanis reporting from the Ngorongoro crater. Yesterday we drove from the Tarangere Tree Top from east side of the Great Rift valley, stopping for lunch at the Manyara lodge and arriving at the Sopa lodge in Ngorongoro crater rim in the evening. Today we had an early start leaving the lodge at 6 AM to go down into the crater. First we saw a lion kill and watched 2 cubs have their first meal of meat. Later we watched 2 cheetahs make a kill on a gazelle and then we saw several types of animals, hundreds of birds. An unbelievable evening, going into the crater.
