June 16, 2005 – The Berg Adventures Kilimanjaro Team is on the Mountain

BAI camp staff working hard at Scott Fischer Camp

Today is June 16, 2005 and we received two messages from our Kilimanjaro Expedition Team.  The first message was from James W. Sibley who was happy to report that the team has reached the Scott Fischer Camp at 12,600ft (3500m).  Two days ago the group began their Kilimanjaro climb in the beautiful mountain rainforests at Lemosho Glades.

Setting up at the Scott Fischer CampJames reported that today the team enjoyed a wonderful meal of fried chicken and french fries.  It sounds like they are quite pleased with the food available on the mountainside.  Tomorrow the team will move higher to Moir Camp at 13,500ft (4114m) which James tells us will be a short day.

The team is doing very well and it sounds like everyone is having a wonderful time.

We also received a message from one of our guides, Safie.  Safie reported that the team was doing extremely well and that everyone has been enjoying the sights and sounds of Kilimanjaro.
