May 23, 2003 – Lobuche

Above Dukla as we climbed onto the Terminal Moraine of the Khumbu Glacier, we paused at the memorials built for the Sherpas and others who have been lost on Everest.

The memorial to Babu is new, having been completed in December. There is a stature of Babu which will be erected in Kathmandu this month as well

We met up with Peter and Amelia Hillary again. This time at the Eco Lodge, where we always stay in Lobuche

The Eco Lodge was a busy place, Mark Litke, Chief Asia Correspondent for ABC news was there as well as Andrew Morse, the Asia Producer for ABC news.
