November 2, 2007 – Market Day in Namche
Saturday is market day in Namche. Folks came from all over the mountains to do their weekly shopping. It was everything you would imagine it would be; vegetables spread out, meats hanging in the butcher shops, and dried goods everywhere. There was trading and buying going on at every stop. Shopping at the local grocery store back home will never be the same for us. After we creasted the hillside over Namche, we viewed the Dudh Kosi valley. The phrase that comes to mind which I am sure we will use again is awe and wonder. The mountains, the valleys, the glaciers, rivers, the Namche people and especially the children....
