November 1, 2007 – Acclimatization Day and Morning Views of Ama Dablam

Namche Bazaar

Namaste. This is Jack calling on Berg Adventures 2007 Ama Dablam Expedition. We are currently living in Panorama Lodge near the Namche Bazaar. It has changed dramatically since my last visit; with hot showers and bathrooms in each room. We must be the cleanest climbers around.

Today was a rest day so we did a short hike this morning to help with our acclimatization.

We trekked 11,200 feet up to a little over 12,000 feet. We then sat and enjoyed the view and we walked back to Namche for lunch at the Everest bakery. The food was excellent.

We all feel great at this point. We are healthy and looking forward to moving closer to the mountain. We got our first views of Ama Dablam this morning as the sun was coming up.

The mountain was as beautiful as ever. We will move a bit higher tomorrow after a quick trip to the trading bazaar.

Of course one more night of wining and dining here in Namche.
