November 1st - Mountaineering dreams come true

This is Wally Berg calling, and this a mountaineering dream for you on the first of November; great good friends Garry, Doug, Ryland, David, Brent, Ang Temba, Kami and myself got up at 2:30 this morning and ate one of Pasang’s breakfasts, climbing through the starlight up to the glacier of Lobuche peak, and at 9:00 this morning we stepped into the top.

It is an indescribable view all around us, perfectly clear Himalayan sky, and the great peaks in every direction: Everest, Lhotse, Makalu. Just a great climb today!

This is a smaller peak, not that high compared to Ama Dablam. The winds are not blowing today and we have been blessed with perfect conditions, good friends having a good time on the mountain. Our conditioning today, the spirit we came by getting to know these mountains better is going to pay off as we move on to Ama Dablam.

This report from Berg Adventures International this morning is nothing but good... and good times on Lobuche Peak.
