January 9, 2008 – Summit Success!

Summit success here on Aconcagua! It is sometime between 1:30pm and 2pm...[ lost transmission ]...Oswaldo, Simon, Leila, John, Kate, Nathan, Philip, and I are on the summit of Aconcagua. 

Simon is returning to High Camp to get hot tea ready for us. It has been a very windy day for our summit day. We started climbing about 2:20am and is often the case on Aconcagua, the wind is blowing strong. Is a beautiful day other than that. We are going to watch for frost bite on our faces... [lost transmission]. We are really proud of our team, we are equally proud of our support team; Oswaldo, Simon, and Leila.

We are coming off the mountain now. You can't imagine what a great feeling it is. We're going to go down and drink some tea at High Camp and I just wanted to let you know that it is a great feeling to have reached the top of Aconcagua.
